MAAT - AIF CAT 3 FUND BACK-OFFICE SOLUTION

The Confisys MAAT platform is a purpose-built back-office solution for SEBI-registered Category III Alternative Investment Funds. Designed to handle the trade volumes, multi-asset complexity, and tax requirements that Category III funds deal with daily, it gives fund managers and administrators a single automated system replacing the spreadsheets and manual processes typically stitched together each NAV cycle. The platform can be deployed directly at your location, at your fund administrator's, or alongside your existing outsourced fund accounting partner.

Fund & Investor Setup:

  • Single master record per fund: The platform maintains one central record per fund capturing all investor, share class, and capital lifecycle data ensuring every downstream calculation draws from a single, consistent source.
  • SEBI-aligned LP categorisation: Investors are categorised in line with SEBI's AIF classification requirements, with full capital lifecycle tracking commitment, drawdown, and uncalled balance maintained per investor at all times.
  • Multi-Class & Multi-Asset Coverage:

  • Unlimited share classes: The platform supports any number of share classes within a fund, with class-specific fee models configured independently including hurdle rates and high-water marks applied separately per class.
  • Full asset class coverage: Trading and accounting is supported across equities, F&O, debentures, G-Secs, mutual funds, ETFs, REITs, and InvITs covering the complete range of instruments a Category III fund trades without requiring a parallel spreadsheet for any asset type.
  • Trade, Currency & Tax Processing:

  • Automated mark-to-market: All MTM accounting calculations are performed automatically each cycle, eliminating manual computation and the reconciliation effort that typically follows it.
  • Multi-currency FX attribution: Every transaction can be captured in its own currency, with daily exchange rates maintained in the system. FX gain and loss is tracked separately so NAV decomposition cleanly isolates investment performance from currency movement.
  • Built-in Indian tax engine:The platform calculates STCG and LTCG at the applicable rates, applies surcharge and cess, handles tax treaty rates for eligible investors, tracks loss carry-forwards across periods, and maintains challan records all within the system, with no external tax workbook required.
  • NAV & Investor Reporting:

  • NAV at any frequency:NAV can be struck as often as required, broken down into its components realised gains, unrealised gains, MTM movement, FX impact, accruals, and fees so the fund team always knows exactly what is driving the number.
  • Investor-level IRR:Performance is tracked and reported at the individual investor level, not just at the fund level, giving each LP a clear picture of their own returns net of applicable fees.
  • Auto-generated financial statements:Trial balance, P&L statement, and balance sheet are generated automatically from the fund's books. Investor account statements tracking subscriptions and redemptions are produced in the same step, with no separate preparation required.
  • Controls & Compliance:

  • Complete audit trail: Every action in the system is recorded who did what, to which record, and when providing a tamper-evident log that is available at any time for regulatory review, LP due diligence, or internal audit.
  • Maker-checker enforcement: Role-based access controls with maker-checker functionality ensure that no figure enters the books without the appropriate review and approval step, reducing the risk of input errors reaching the NAV or investor reports.
  • Optional shadow accounting layer:For funds that require independent oversight alongside their primary administrator, the platform supports a parallel shadow accounting layer that can be reconciled against the administrator's records at any point.
